Food Truck Catering FAQs
Everything people ask us before they book. Anything not covered here, give us a call on 0439 994 608.

Before You Book

Do you have a minimum spend?

We don't publish a minimum spend. Every event is different, so tell us your date and numbers on the quote form and we'll tell you honestly what works.

Do you charge a truck booking fee?

No. There's no truck fee on top. The price you see per guest is the price.

Are you insured and food safety registered?

Yes. We carry public liability insurance and hold current food safety registration. If your venue or workplace needs certificates, just ask and we'll send them straight through.

How far do you travel?

We travel anywhere within 50km of Melbourne CBD at no extra charge. Beyond that, Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Geelong, Ballarat and the Dandenongs are all fine, we just quote travel on your form. We don't travel interstate unless it's a large scale event.

What space do you need?

The truck is 6.8m long, 2.4m wide and 3.8m high. We need roughly 9m x 3.5m of flat, accessible ground and a clear run in. Tell us about gravel, slopes, low branches or tight gates when you book and we'll sort it out well before the day.

On The Day

What time will you arrive?

We arrive 1-2 hours before your food is due to be served, so everything is hot and ready on time. Pack up takes about an hour after we finish.

How quickly can you feed everyone?

Quickly. Around 150 guests an hour on a single meal. If you've got a tight run sheet, speeches at a certain time or a bus to catch, tell us and we'll build the service around it

Do you need power or water?

No. We're fully self sufficient with our own power, gas and water. We never need your kitchen, your bar or your staff.

How long do you serve for?

Between 1 and 2 hours, depending on how much food is ordered. If desserts are on your menu we stay longer. Weddings with canapés and a dessert station run up to 4 hours on site.

Do you provide cutlery and napkins?

Yes, all included. Plates, cutlery, napkins and bins for the rubbish. You don't need to supply anything.

What do you wear?

Branded Sliders on Tyres tops and black aprons. If your venue has a stricter dress code, tell us and we'll match it.

What happens if it rains?

We keep cooking. The truck is the kitchen, so weather doesn't stop us. Worth thinking about where your guests will stand though, and we're happy to talk through the layout with you beforehand.

The Food

How big are the sliders?

About half the size of a normal burger, so two sliders is the equivalent of one full size burger. Every package includes two per guest, which is a proper meal rather than a taste.

Do you do kids meals?

Yes. Kids under 12 get their pick of The Little Rig, which is smashed beef, cheddar and tomato sauce, or chicken nuggets, both with diner fries. $16.95 per child, or $24.95 with dessert when dessert is on your menu.

How is the food served?

Four ways, and you pick what suits your room.

From the truck window, guests come up and order.

Passed around on trays by our waiters, best for cocktail style events.

Laid out as a buffet for people to help themselves.

Boxed and delivered, great for smaller events and lower spend.

Not sure which? Tell us the vibe and we'll recommend one.

Will the packages actually fill an adult?

Yes. Every package, including The Pit Stop, comfortably feeds an adult. As you step up you get more variety and more food, not bigger portions of the same thing.

Do you cater for dietaries?

Vegetarian and vegan are covered at no extra cost. Mush and Swiss is vegetarian, Shroomageddon is vegan, and our Smoky Mushroom Cups are vegan too.

For gluten free we prepare those meals separately, with gluten free buns and separate handling, and take every precaution against cross contamination. But gluten is handled in the same truck, so we are not a certified gluten free kitchen and there may always be contaminants. We'd rather tell you that than promise otherwise.

Any other allergies, tell us on the booking form and we'll talk it through properly.

Can we do a tasting?

For weddings and larger events, yes. Get in touch and we'll sort something out.

 Extras & Changes

Can I hire waiters or bar staff?

Yes. Waiters are $198 plus GST for 3 hours. Bar staff are $255 plus GST for 4 hours. We can also arrange a mobile bar, marquee hire and full event management if you need someone to coordinate the lot.

What if my guest numbers change?

Completely fine. We confirm final numbers the week before your event, and that's what we invoice on. Small changes right up to a few days out are usually no problem, just let us know.

Can I change my menu after booking?

Yes, happy to chat if things change. Just keep in mind that we accept bookings based on the package selected, so a significant reduction in price or numbers may affect our ability to service the booking as originally planned.

Final numbers are due 7–10 days prior to the event. Slider selections, add-ons, desserts and other menu details can all be adjusted up until then.
